MINUTES: LOCAL LAND PLANNING AGENCY/PLANNING COMMISSION, PUBLIC
HEARING, JANUARY 26, 1977, COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, J SMOOT
Chairman Boscove called the Public Hearing to order at 7:40 p.m.,
advising this was a Public Hearing with due public notice for the
continued review and analysis of the proposed Comprehensive Plan and
Land Use Map submitted by Planning Consultant J. Smoot. The Recording
Secretary called the roll. The Agenda is Attachment "A".
Present: J. A. Boscove, H. Storm, N. M. Johnson,
J. M. Farrin, R. B. Myers.
Absent: C. S. Markatos, A. Allen.
Chairman Boscove advised the Commission would continue the analysis of
the Land Use Map,.on display. Mr. Johnson suggested reviewing the map
district by district, the suggestions by Mr. Smoot,and the Zoning in
effect at the present time. A review of the color code and zoning as
indicated on the map followed.
The Chairman polled the Commission by voice vote to establish the opinions
of the members relative to the area including Lots 96 thru 113. Mr.
Boscove, Mr. Myers, Mr. Storm, Adm. Farrin, agreed to the 25 to 30 unit
per acre classification, Mr. Johnson indicated he was in favor of a 20
unit per acre designation.
A general discussion relative to commercial zoning followed examination
of the proposed map,,including the types of commercial establishments,
and the opinion of the residents as expressed on the questionnaire re-
cently distributed by the Town. It was the consensus of the members of
the Commission that Lot 113 not be classified as Commercial and that no
other Lot be considered for Commercial Zoning.
Mr. Earl Totz in audience objected to the density change for Lots 114 thru
124 classified medium, 12 to 20 units.
At the conclusion of the review of the proposed map,
clared the Public Hearing recessed until Wednesday,
7:30 p.m., at which time the discussion and analysis
