Chairman Boscove called the meeting to order advising this was a Workshop Meeting for is discussion and continued review of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan element with Guest Speakers Mr. Walter Young, Director of Community Development for Boca Raton and Mr. Michael Woolsey of the Boca Raton Community Planning Board. The Agenda is attachment "A". The recording secretary called the roll. Present: Mr. J. A. Boscove, Mr. N. M. Johnson, Mrs. Adele Allen, Mr, R. B. Myers, Adm. J. M. Farrin Absent: Mr, E. A. Potere, Alternate The meeting was called to order at 3:05 P.M. Mrs. E. W. Roberts and Mr. T,Sliney in audience. Mr. Young discussed the activities of all department heads with relation to Boca planning development, the city 20 year capital improvement program and the early planning proced- ures monitored by the City Commission, He referred to the declaration of policy by the Town Legislative body and the growth objectives. He noted that all department heads are active in planning development. The zoning map and legislative action thereon was mentioned and the vital part that public relations played in the planning procedures. The topics of possible change in zoning for that area on ALA north of 40th Street and the eventual widening of SR AIA to four lanes in Boca Raton were introduced and discussed, Boca Raton height limitations, ocean front densities and the possibilities of lowered •densities were mentioned, Mr. Young noted the importance of relating utilities cap- abilities with densities, and advised that the reason for requiring lowered densities must be supported. The four basic elements to be considered - residential, commercial, public and industrial, were also discussed, Mr. Young offered to forward a copy of a format for changes in zoning for the Planning Commission to examine. At the completion of comments by Mr. Young and Mr. Woolsey, Chairman Boscove expressed the appreciation of the members of the Planning Commission for assistance and information offered by both gentlemen, Chairman Boscove called for a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Allen offered the motion for ad- journment, Admiral Farrin seconded the motion, The Workshop Meeting adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
