Acting Chairman Kemery called the regular monthly meeting of the
Planning Board, of order at 2:30 p.m.. In attendance were: Acting
Chairman Kemery, Dr. Guelzow and Messrs. Wilcox, Johnson and Boscove.
Absent; Mr. Schober.

The minutes of December 20, were requested to be again read into the
record. (These minutes had been approved and accepted on December
28th on a motion made by Mr. Boscove, seconded by Mr. Wilcox and
approved by the Planning Board members present).
The minutes of January 9, were presented for approval, after corrections
thereto; viz., adding the words, "Russell Road Drive" after words, RM
10 District, these minutes were approved by the members of the Board.
Commissioners Gilday and Mumford were in audience and presented to
the members of the Board a copy of an article regarding zoning and
the statements quoted therein which were made by Judge Alan Schwartz,
a judge in Dade County, as well as the letter dated January 17, signed by
each member of the Town Commission. It was the consensus of the
members of the Town Commission that the Planning Board give further
study to the proposed changes in the zoning ordinance and if necessary,
request an extension of the Building Moratorium.
Discussion took place as the Acting Chairman pointed out that the
present moratorium will soon expire.
Both Commissioners Gilday and Mumford gave statements in support of
the letter of January 17.
Discussion followed.
Mr. Boscove suggested that they elect a permanent Chairman and nominated
Mr. Kemery. Mr. Kemery advised he would accept if it was the wish of
the members. Mr. Kemery polled the members for voting: Mr. Wilcox,
yes; Mr. Johnson, abstained from voting; Dr. Gueelzow, yes; Mr. oscove
yes. Mr. Kemery was elected Chairman by a three ( --) B

Mr. Wilcox then suggested Dr. Guelzow be elected V ce Chairman and
each member's vote was polled. The record will show Dr. Guelzow was
elected unanimously.

Mr. Boscove offered a suggestion that they should start from begining and tc
go over each item of the Leary Report and Zoning and make changes what
they would like and agree regarding: density, height and elimanation of
certain sections. Discussion followed.
Chairman Kemery polled all the members of the Board to have a Workshop
meeting on Thursday, January 24, 1974 at 7:30 p.m. and it was approved
by all members.
